Our goal is to create readers for the future. Children who have agency in their reading and have awareness of their reading identity as it evolves and changes. At the heart of The Reading Journey is the establishment of a strong reading community in which both teachers and children engage in book talk that excites, evokes curiosity, and challenges.
An APProach, not just an app
The Reading Journey starts with a support package for helping you achieve this goal. It comprises our initial online training, which includes six modules that can be used in staff meetings to help you audit, develop and review practice. You will also be invited to join our termly network meetings to share practice with other schools.

Resubscribing schools will receive termly updates and are welcome to participate in the network meetings.

How it worksAt a glance picture of your children’s reading
The Reading Journey allows you to see and understand patterns of reading in your class. You can reward positive reading behaviours with in-app stickers and support children who need help or encouragement via teacher-pupil messaging.

Set up your school
When you are registered, you will be sent a login to set up your school account. You can then set up teachers and assign a safeguarding lead.

Organise pupil logins
Set up pupils in each class. Children add their books and other reading material to their bookshelves. They can record journal entries and grade books according to how much they enjoyed them.

Teacher Dashboard and Reporting
Keep on top of children’s reading via your dashboard. See the top choices for your class and share insights in booktalk sessions.
